Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalms 46:10 NKJV
Too many times we are so eager to step out to make sure that our next move is safe, we are so eager to prove that the people that have come into our lives are just there to hurt us, or we are so eager to see what's coming next that we don't take the time to sit back and observe God in the moment.
Today I hear God saying, “You don't have to do my job for me… You don't have to worry about being your own security guard I've got that under control. I know you want all the answers before I give them, I know you want to see what's ahead, and what I have in store for you but right now I'm just asking you to be still, rest in my presence, and understand that I am God and I will be exalted among the nations.”
When Dad's name is on the line He is not going to fail! God is God! He desires for others to come to Him, He desires for people to know Him in His fullness. God desires for people to be drawn to the characteristic that He is faithful to
do what He says He's going to do. So if God makes a promise that He will be exalted among the nations you can rest in that promise coming to pass. If you can just be still and let Him do what He does then you don't have to worry about where your provision is going to come from, you don't have to worry about where your protection is going to come from, you don't have to worry period!
So today I speak to the over thinker. Today I speak to the person who is becoming anxious trying to figure out what's next. Calm down, sit back, and recognize that God is God and He will take care of every single detail. All you have to do is rest in the moment and move in the moment that is right now.
Focus on the present and you won't have time to be anxious about tomorrow. Focus on the present and what you're dealing with today and you won't have time to be worried about who might hurt you tomorrow, what might be lacking tomorrow, what might be greater tomorrow, what blessings may or may not come your way. Those are things that we don't have to worry about if we just sit still in God and recognize that He has everything under control. That He IS in control. In Matthew 6:34 it tells us to not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
So be still in today, trust God to be Himself in all His mighty splendor, and focus on the tasks you have control over today. Stop trying to peek into tomorrow, stop trying to be God for Him, and trust that the moment you are in has been perfectly created to move you to the next. Have a great stress free and peace filled day in Jesus!
