Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:
Philippians 4:11 NKJV
Last week in Bible study we briefly talked about God allowing us to obtain certain things even if it wasn't what He desired for our lives.
It got me to thinking about all the stuff I cried for, begged for, and dreamed about and when I got it realized I didn't really want it and abandoned it.
The Scripture tells us that it is possible for us to be content in whatever state we are in. It's something all of us need to learn especially in today's culture. I understand that it can be difficult to see people living ideal lives (even if what we see doesn't match the reality) and not desire a taste of it. I know that this is a constant struggle for me.
I guess my encouragement for the day is to say, enjoy what you have in your now. I've said it the last two weeks in Bible study; if you don't have it (yet) you don't need it (yet). What's for you is for you and won't beat you down spiritually in the process of obtaining it.
I'd hate for you to look up as many times as I have and say, "ugh, I begged for that but Lord please remove it." I think it's time we ask Him to teach us to be content as we endure the moment we are in so that all we obtain is in Him, of Him, from Him, and blessed by Him!
God knows best. Trust Him!
Enjoy your day. God bless!
