break down in tears, cussing unsuspecting people out, or being angry or paranoid all the time?
Yeah, that’s not God. That also means you are trying to accomplish something that you need to allow God to handle. You see we aren't in a relationship where we have to pull all the weight. God desires to help us through every situation
we go through and if we are careful enough to slow down and share our burdens with Him He will lighten the load. For His yoke is easy and His burden light (Matthew 11:28-30)
Our key verse says to cast our cares on Him. That means we can throw, catapult, and actually hand over all our issues to our Father! He cares enough about us to take them and do whatever He needs to do to help us through. He will give direction, peace, joy, strength, and encouragement all because that's in His nature and He desires to see His chosen prosper.
Casting your cares on God is a privilege of the child of God. We have to take advantage of it! There is a peace filled and burden free walk that we are blessed to experience but many of us are missing it because we refuse to give our issues to God for Him to work on or we don't know how.
So what does casting your cares look like? For me sometimes it's a simple, “God I give this over to you because I don't know what else to do. I just don't know.” And all of a sudden things just start working out in that area. Other times it’s praise and worship and as I magnify Him my issues become smaller!
Sometimes I'm a little more dramatic and there are tears involved as I cry out to God. The music volume may be turned up to “bust out an eardrum” as I compete with the musicians and singers to make my requests known to God. Sometimes I'm screaming into a pillow symbolically allowing all my frustrations to exit my being.
I journal, pray, and go to the word/Scripture that I know talks about my issue to be encouraged. There’s no one way to do it which makes this task that much more personal and simple. It doesn’t matter how you do it but if you are experiencing overwhelming feelings you are going to have to!
Again, there’s no one way to cast these cares but the key is, once you cast the cares on Him, don't pick them back up. Have faith that He will guide you and be obedient with any directions you receive (walk away from that, start getting up earlier to pray, read your bible, fast, apply to this job, be NICE to them, leave that person alone, etc). Sometimes you have to be willing to sacrifice your feelings in the now to receive the rest you've always desired.
Cast your cares on Him. For He cares for you!
Have a blessed day!
