You've made great strides with God to get out of that relationship, in giving up that addiction, letting go of that thing that was hindering your walk with Him! It's starting to get a little easier. The struggle isn't as real as it was the day before. You see God working things out and you're feeling confident in Him and regaining your confidence in self! Awesome! To God be the glory! I'm ecstatic for you even if no one else is!
May I offer some advice to help you to continue on this walk?
1) Keep watch!
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I Peter 5:8 NKJV
Pay attention! We are always fair game and I don’t want you to get caught slippin! You know your triggers so if you can, stay away from them. If not put a plan in place for what you will do if the trigger is pulled! The enemy wants you but I'm declaring right now in the name of Jesus that he can't and won’t have you!
2) Take the escape!
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV
If you find yourself in a place where what you've walked away from is presenting itself in tricky new ways or even
stale old ways be wise! Pray for God's strength to not fall into any traps! He will always give us an out (sometimes more than one)! Please take them! Resist the craving! It may not feel like you can but YOU CAN!
3) Apply grace!
God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:20-21 NLT
We fall! We're human! Allow God to forgive you, forgive yourself, keep it pushing, and learn from the mishap. The enemy would love nothing more to make you feel unworthy again! Not today Satan. Not today!
4) Watch your thoughts
Live by Phil 4:8. It will help keep you safe!
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 NKJV
You are awesome you fearfully and wonderfully made child of God you! Keep up the good work as you strive to be a better you and better disciple of God! Whatever you do don't go back! You've come too far!
Love you all!
