Good morning, afternoon, or evening child of God! If getting your day started was a press this morning or maybe you were feeling a little blah may I remind you of Psalm 118:24...
This is the day that the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Regardless of what is looming over you this week you can find relief, peace, joy, and strength in your praise!
On top of that, I want to give you 3 tips to help you get through this week!
1) Press past what you feel
This will be the longest point for the day ;)
Negative feelings can keep us stuck places way longer than we have to be. I don’t know how many times I have to remind myself and us that our feelings are fickle! Even if they are persistently consistent. They may be valid but we cannot base our willingness to move forward on how we feel in this moment.
Have you ever been so exhausted you just know there is no way to get out the bed and actually function properly? Yet, as soon as you get up, wash your face, get your devotion time in, or get your morning coffee something shifts and it's a little more doable?
We have to press!
What we know to be true and what we feel at the moment are constantly at odds.
We might know this is the day that the Lord has made and to rejoice in it but we also might have things
that happen to cause us to want to break down.
We might know that God will never leave us or forsake us but have many moments we feel lonely and abandoned.
I am not saying to ignore your emotions and feelings!
On the contrary!
Feelings are good because they alert us to what is going on in our physical and spiritual lives. It’s okay to identify them and take them to God to see how they line up with His word and get tips on how to align our thoughts to match His! But after you do that, you have to move forward!
Side note: Listen to your body! If it is breaking down let it rest! (Do not turn the day into a brunch and shopping day...for real rest). Other than that press past the moment, press past your emotions that keep you stagnant, and move forward in Christ. Shift your mindset to that of Philippians 4:13, that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you and become victorious over your negative thoughts and feelings right now, in this moment!
2) Come unto Jesus
I’m going to leave this point to a special Scripture. Take some time to study and meditate on it this week. See what God desires you to do with it!
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
Ok? Get it? Got it? Good! ;)
3) Apply the message you heard yesterday
Look, your Pastor or church leader stood before you yesterday for at least 30minutes and shared a message God put on their heart just for you! It wasn’t for nothing! Apply it! =)
Look back at your notes. If you didn’t take any ask God to bring important points back to the forefront of your thoughts and then apply them. Meditate on the Scripture shared. Don’t let it fall on stony ground let it grow you (Mark 4:1-20)!
I pray that you will walk victoriously through this week! You’re a conqueror! Trust that!
God bless you!
