Matthew 17:19-20 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said “why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
How many times have you gone to God in your private time and asked, “why could we not cast it out?” just as the disciples did? This could be anything, why couldn’t you pray depression off, why was there no power behind your statements, why didn’t your declarations come true, etc? There could be a number of reasons for this but let’s stick
Many of us spend most of our saved lives attempting to please God and those we feel are closer to him than we are (Pastors, worship leaders, other leaders of the faith/church). First off let me say pleasing others needs to take a back seat to pleasing God. There is no one that can get you into heaven so focus on the one who actually can, G-O-D. Everything else will fall into place nicely. Paul says in Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. We have to start living by this same principle.
For many, pleasing God has become a daunting task that threatens to pull us away from him. We work and work getting burned out trying to earn salvation and his favor that we have already obtained. But all we have to do to please him is truly believe in him and continue to seek him. As we seek, we will find, and we will be led to respond in ways that please him even more.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
If you have accepted him as your personal Lord and Savior and believe that he is a rewarder of those who persistently and consistently seek after him, not only are you continually saved but you are pleasing him.
If you are finding yourself stressing out about pleasing God STOP right now and think: Do you believe? Are you walking this life the best way you know how and following your convictions?
If the answers are yes, then you're good =). If the answer are no, tell him you’re sorry and then decide to do better in that moment (repent) and you’re good! =) Of course we can always do better but remember, faith is to God's heart what good food is to a man’s stomach lol =)

Joshua 1 provides us with some instructions to follow as we begin walking in our faith and change.
1) Be strong and courageous (1:6)
2) Be careful to obey (1:7)
3) Don’t turn from what you know to be right so you will prosper wherever you go! (1:7)
4) Don’t let this book depart from your mouth (1:8).
In other words, this bible should be apart of your daily vocabulary because we need it to remind us of what God says and who He is!
5) Meditate in it day and night and your ways will be prosperous and successful (1:8)
People love to say, “I’m not the one who is in my word everyday but God still loves me”. You ain’t neva lied…He does still love you! But the way to get direction and to be led on the right path to purpose is spending time in the word. True, not everyone is able to do this everyday, but the word says, make time. No need for argument.
Joshua 1:6-8 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead
In Genesis 19:17 the angel told Lot, his wife, and children to run for their lives and don’t look back or stop anywhere! It wasn’t to hurt them but to save them from the destruction that was to hit Sodom and Gomorrah. In verse 26 it was recorded that Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt, all because she was unwilling to walk away from her past entirely.
I read in one of my study bibles “you can’t make progress with God as long as you are holding on to pieces of your old life”. This could be bad habits, sin, people, jobs, places, or anything God has told you to walk away from. This is so

You’re not the only one to ever stall. I’ve been guilty of this many of times…recently. I won’t spend time listing all the reasons why hesitation occurs but I will share some possible consequences.
1) You may have to take a whoopin you were not meant to receive
Genesis 19:15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city”
Here’s a simple example: You get a gut feeling that you need to leave a function early. Even though you are having a great time, you are obedient. Later that night you receive a call that the party was shot up after a fight broke out. What would have happened if you ignored that slight nudge? Your obedience to the spirit could have saved your life and possibly those who were with you.
The angels told Lot to leave before he was consumed in the punishment of the city. I don’t know about you but I’m
GO GET IT!!!
You cannot be afraid to step out your comfort zone in this season. If you no longer want to remain stagnant you’re going to have to try something you have never done before. *Right there* What thought just came to mind? What have you been feeling led to do today, this week, month, year? Regardless of how big or small it feels, it’s time to stop talking about it and GO GET IT! It’s already yours anyways!
Joshua 1:3 NLT I promise you what I promised Moses: ‘Wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you
So what if we have managed to do what Proverbs 3:5-6 says and get God’s directions and think… “what the what?!”
Sometimes we get so upset, confused, and fearful about moves because we don’t understand what God is doing; and many of the things we feel led to do make absolutely no sense. But God has it under control. Think about Noah, he was told to build a big ole boat, get all the animals on it in an orderly fashion, AND none of his homies could go, just his immediate family…really? Makes no earthly sense. (Genesis 6-8; Hebrews 11:7). But because of this he became the second father of the human race and we received a promise that the earth would never be destroyed in that manner again. (Genesis 9:8-16)
What about Gideon’s great leadership task? He was told to save Israel out of the oppressively powerful hand of the Midianites with only 300 men…really? Makes no earthly sense. (Judges 6-7; Hebrews 11:32) But God brought those
It’s a familiar scripture that we quote but find it hard to live by. Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us all the ingredients to walk into the newness and change that God has for us.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
1) Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Many times we fear moving forward because it doesn’t look like things can happen. Trust in the Lord, not your circumstance, not in the people around you, not in your current resources. Don’t limit yourself by
One thing I appreciate about being a child of God is that if we allow for it, there’s always growth, movement, and positive change. Once we think we’ve hit a certain level of awesomeness or even a brick wall, He opens another door and shows us brand new opportunities, visions, and dreams that are greater than we could ever imagine. It’s only a matter of walking into the new, which is often unknown and frankly, scary.
In the last two years my world has been flipped upside down with constant change. Some were easy to handle while others, eh not so much. As a creature of habit and one who does not always work well with drastic transitions it has been a serious adjustment. Walking by faith is no joke.
One thing I remember in vivid detail is praying for God to use me, take me to new levels, new places, and a new understanding of Him and my purpose. I definitely wasn’t ready to receive what I was praying for at the time because as soon as He shifted the gears of change, I resisted, complained, and disobeyed. A week or two later I’d
