Over the last several years we have watched tensions rise between race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and every other issue that has led to overall divide.
The last few days, after the celebration of our nation’s independence, have been heartbreaking. Not only the actions causing uprise but the ideas of hate that are spewing through the comment sections on social media.
Today, in this post, I write with one agenda, to encourage you in your mind and spirit.
If fear, anger, sadness, confusion, hurt, wrath, powerlessness have risen in your spirit, acknowledge it fully and take it to God to see how to channel it.
You will see many people tell you it’s time to stop praying. Child of God, you know better than that. They are asking us, “where is your God?” They say they don’t see Him working. You might even agree, but don’t be discouraged by this.
In Exodus as Moses actively led the people out of bondage and into the Promised Land, he spent countless hours in intercession on behalf of the people. During that time, he was able to stop the destruction the people had no clue was going to befall them. During that time, some of the weight of the discomfort, pain, and loss was lifted through intercession. They didn’t have to feel the full effects!
I say this to say; we know what prayer can do. Do not allow those who don’t to knock you off your post. Like Moses, we must pray and actively lead in the way God has called us to individually and collectively.
We all know faith without works is dead, but we also know that the action of prayer gives insight on how to move in a way that will lead us to victory and not destruction. Do I know what this movement looks like for you? Of course not! Do your friends via social media know? I doubt it!
So to get your instructions, get into your secret place and ask for them as you cover the land that we have to walk on daily! As you cover the people you love and those you are connected to by similar circumstance. As you pray for the hearts that are full of hate. And as you cover the unbelievers with good intent, that are entering warzones with no spiritual covering. We have to go to Him.
Please note my words are not to say prayer should be your only action. Prayer should lead to revelation and confirmation on how you are to move in order to cause change at the root and surface level.
There are organizing efforts and planning meetings already in existence and being set up. If that’s what you feel led to do, participate. Contrary to popular belief, there are churches that are and have been actively working in the community to address systemic issues. If you are led, join them!
To my called intercessors, I feel you! So, I lift you as we lift everything we’ve been assigned to carry. Do not be overwhelmed by what you see in the natural and in the spirit. Continue to do what you know to do. May the Lord be your strength!
Lord, remove our fear! I pray that we will use our God-given gifts with power, with love, and with a sound mind. Bring peace, heal, and allow your word to well up in your people even now. As we do your work in the way that you have led us to, strengthen us and go before us, be on our right and our left as you bring up the rear. Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil; for you are with us, your rod and your staff, they comfort us. For those who've gone to battle without you, please cover. In Jesus' name, amen.
2 Timothy 1:7
A word for you on this 4th of July!
Today, I encourage you to seek pure spiritual freedom! Trust God with your whole life!
To experience this freedom, be obedient to what He is calling you to do.
Free your hands from the toxic people, places, and things in your life and be open to the process of deliverance that comes with that.
Free your mind from the toxic thoughts that hinder or hamper your forward movement in God.
As a new creation in Christ who can go to the throne room of grace whenever you’re in need, take advantage of His gift of grace! Free yourself from the burdens you carry, the unforgiveness of self and others that you harbor, and the expectations you’ve put on others by placing all of your trust in Him! (2 Corinthians 5:17, Hebrews 4:16; 1 Peter 5:7)
Wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). Invite Him with you everywhere you go today! Remain aware of Him and praise Him as often as you can!
Matter of fact, if you haven’t already, I challenge you to take some time and read your Bible this morning. Meditate on what the Scripture means to you in this very moment. Allow Him to speak to your heart and start your soul on a journey of greater deliverance and fulfillment in Him!
Knock the 2nd half of this year out of the park!
And be safe out there today!
