The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.
Psalms 37:23-24 NKJV
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to fall into something but when it’s time to climb out it’s like the most hellish experience ever? Like something that literally took you 4 seconds to get into can leave you spending the next 60 years fixing! This can be with anything…loving someone, becoming addicted to something, making a poor business decision, shoot making any poor life decisions.
The Bible does say obedience is better than sacrifice and I thought I learned this lesson lol but I still find myself looking back at my own life thinking, “Jesus, when will I learn to be obedient so I don’t have to deal with the challenge of climbing out of all these painful pits!?” (1 Samuel 15:22)
Family, we have got to learn to watch our steps! We are literally walking straight into pits of addiction, despair, bondage, confusion, depression, anxiety, etc and getting stuck there! The problem most of us are facing is that we are
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
1 Peter 5:10 NKJV
Heartbreak, extreme debt, financial issues, loss of a loved one, loss period, bad health diagnoses, bodily harm, assaults, abuse are just a few of the things that happen in our lives that cause us to feel as though we are suffering. Pain, aching, excruciating moments whether mentally, spiritually, physically, or all three make it easy to look up and say, “God, why me? Why us? Why?”
While I believe that God doesn’t plan to harm us I do believe that He always has a plan to bring us back to a desired calm (Jeremiah 29:11). Whether it’s life’s choices (of self or others) that have brought you to this place of suffering or life challenges that you can’t explain, God has made us a promise…That after we suffer a little while He will perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us. We serve a God that can take anything and flip it so it works for the good of all. The word says, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 NKJV
You child of God are purposed, God knows you love Him, and He will turn this suffering into something that will
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:8-9 NKJV
This post is for the person beating themselves up over mistakes made, over mistakes that have turned into repeated decisions, for the one feeling guilty, ashamed, and condemned.
God has a remedy for the weight that you feel and it rests in His Son, Jesus Christ. Here are a few things you need to know…
1) You aren’t alone
The reality is, in our human state we have moments where we allow our flesh to lead us. Anytime our flesh is in control we are in danger of being led away from God. But it’s not something that is only unique to you. The Bible says that all have sinned and fall[en] short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
In His infinite wisdom and love God prepared for this. He knew we would struggle, we would fall, that we would have moments of rebellion. Feeling that you are the only one unable to pull it together in an area in your life is false. And
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
I know our key Scripture fairly well, a lot of us do. I know that the people the prophet Jeremiah was talking to didn’t always do things that were pleasing to God yet these were still the Father’s words to His people. He promised them they would no longer be in captivity. He had a plan to prosper, a plan of hope, a plan for the future.
The other day I was busy being distracted on Facebook and came across a status by Paula White. It read, "God knew every mistake you would make & still made a good plan for your life- one to prosper you & not harm you!"
These words meant so much to me in the moment because of the guilt I was feeling over something God had already forgiven me for. Although Paula didn’t reference the Scripture I knew exactly where she got her insight and it made me excited and thankful!
Before scrolling across these words I didn't think to let this Scripture apply to me because I didn't feel worthy of it in
You've made great strides with God to get out of that relationship, in giving up that addiction, letting go of that thing that was hindering your walk with Him! It's starting to get a little easier. The struggle isn't as real as it was the day before. You see God working things out and you're feeling confident in Him and regaining your confidence in self! Awesome! To God be the glory! I'm ecstatic for you even if no one else is!
May I offer some advice to help you to continue on this walk?
1) Keep watch!
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I Peter 5:8 NKJV
Pay attention! We are always fair game and I don’t want you to get caught slippin! You know your triggers so if you can, stay away from them. If not put a plan in place for what you will do if the trigger is pulled! The enemy wants you but I'm declaring right now in the name of Jesus that he can't and won’t have you!
2) Take the escape!
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV
If you find yourself in a place where what you've walked away from is presenting itself in tricky new ways or even
I don’t have anything profound to share with you EXCEPT the Scriptures that God placed on my heart to encourage me today. Scripture is really all we need! I pray that you will meditate on them, allow them to cause you to reflect on what God has done in your life, and apply them to your right now so that you can fully walk in the promises of God.
May His word free you today! May it free you from every detrimental mindset, confused situation, bound relationship, blinded path of disobedience, and hindrance keeping you from experiencing and resting in the glory of the all wise, all knowing, and loving mighty God! You deserve it! Happy Independence Day!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The Holy Sprit is one of the greatest gifts received by believers of Christ. It’s a teacher, counselor, advocate, corrector, and can be a huge hug when you need one. As a corrector believers will often experience conviction that helps us to know when we are heading down a wrong road or about to make (or have already made) a wrong turn.
Sometimes conviction can be a difficult pill to swallow but it is a necessary part of our Salvation package. Without it we would only set ourselves apart from God. That is the opposite of being set apart for God’s use.
Conviction works immediately and should move one to repentance. If you continue to feel extreme guilt after you have repented (or turned from sin) that is coming from you not forgiving yourself or the enemy himself.
Understand this…the cross was enough! What Jesus did to save you, to wipe your sins away, to cause God to forget about all the yuck of yesterday, to cause God to see you without blemish, to cause God to hold not one fault over your head…it was enough.
There’s nothing else you can do to become more forgiven. Forgive yourself and rest in one of the benefits of Salvation: freedom from condemnation. (Romans 8:1)
Can you praise God in your low moments?
Can you worship him with your life regardless of what is going on?
Can you keep pushing when it feels like you are about to break?
Can you go to God with authenticity and let him know how you really feel?
Can you serve when it feels like you are receiving nothing in return?
Can you love again even though your heart has been broken?
Can you trust again even though so many have not given you a reason to?
Can you go on when it feels like you have lost everything?
Can you trust God when it feels like you have lost everything?
Can you love God when it seems like he is nowhere to be found?
Can you give it all you got and apply for the position you’ve been wanting?
Can you finish your school program?
Can you take time everyday to spend with God?
Can you remove your distractions?
Can you catch up with your dreams?
The answer is OF COURSE YOU CAN! We were made to overcome adversity, to conquer, and to be in an authentic relationship with God. But the true question is will you?
James 1:12 NLT God blesses those who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
Romans 8:37 NKJV Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Psalm 142:2 NIV I pour out before him my complaint; before him I tell my trouble.
I’d like to take today to recognize the OG Ride or Die in our lives, whether you’ve chosen to accept Him or not. Jesus! The one who gave up His life so that we didn’t have to. The one who continued to ride as He was spat on, whipped, pierced, nailed, plain ol assaulted just for you and every wrong you would ever commit. All so that grace would keep you in right relationship with God, the Creator of all!
His death brought us life! His resurrection gave us direction and power. Shout out to God for wrapping Himself in flesh to right what we messed up. Our ride or die, even when we purposely choose not to live for him.
#Committed #Dedicated #Love Today—I’ll do my best to ride regardless of my circumstances and die to my flesh and fears. It’s the least I can do…What about you?
Celebrate our ride or die today. The only one we can trust to do that for us 100% know that!
in seniority my doubts about my ability continued as the cases became a little more complex. I was so grateful for my supervisor! (If you don't have a Sheri in your life, you should probably pray for yours to come). She was one of my greatest encouragers! Especially when I felt like I messed up and broke one of my kiddos.
