Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
John 8:36 NKJV
So if the son liberates you [makes you free men] then you are really and unquestionably free.
John 8:36 AMP
When I woke up this morning I pictured a person standing with broken chains around them. The background was dark but there was a bright light behind them that let me see the shadowy figure. It was obvious they had been freed from the bondage they were held captive in. They looked tired, a little disheveled, somewhat confused and unsure if they could actually move forward in their freedom and so they just stood still.
It reminded me how God has granted so many of us freedom simply by believing in Him but because of what we see we fail to truly believe that we’ve been freed indeed. Just because things look the same in the physical does not mean that you are not freed up in the Spirit to move forward so that the physical manifestation can take place.
Check out our key Scripture. It let’s us know that there should be no doubt, no question in our minds that we are made free in Christ. You see? It’s not a question it’s a fact. We are free! We are free! We do not have to doubt our freedom in Christ. Ever!
Whether you felt the chains fall off while in worship, God spoke to your spirit letting you know that you are free, or John 8 has solidified your understanding of your spiritual freedom papers in Christ, I encourage you to stand firm in your newly recognized truth and ask God for assistance in learning how to truly live this free life in Him.
Your chains have been broken! You are allowed to move forward! In spite of what you or anyone else may have to say!
I pray that you will have a positive mind shift. That you will not be so comfortable with chaos that you miss the peace that God is offering right now. That you will not revert back to your bondage situation because it’s familiar or comfortable and just sit there thinking you aren’t free because child of God you are.
I pray that God will teach you how to accept and firmly walk in your freedom. I pray that He will teach you how to accept the peace that comes with this freedom and that doubt, guilt, restraint, or feelings of worthlessness will no longer have a dwelling place in your hearts and minds in spite of your yesterday. I thank God that the situation and mindset that you were held up in no longer has a hold on you, your heart, your thoughts, or your life! I thank the God of Heaven that you are free at last! In Jesus’ name!
Even if you don’t feel it I need you to know it so that you can begin to firmly believe it and walk in it!
Before I sign off for the day I want to give you one way that you can practice moving forward in your freedom: Speak that thang until it becomes a belief you live and move by.
The Scripture says, Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
Speak that over your life throughout the day:
“God, I thank you that the Son has set me free meaning I am free indeed! In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Speaking life over yourself is effective (Proverbs 18:21)! The principle is that simple. Staying with it and speaking it in moments you are feeling hemmed up might be a little more challenging but you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13)! Go forth this week, this month, the rest of this year remembering this truth and let’s just see where it leads you!
