So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
One morning as Jesus and the disciples walked, Peter noticed the fig tree Jesus cursed. He stated, Teacher look! Look at the tree you cursed withered away (v21).
In response, Jesus gave His disciples and us some valuable intel regarding pressing forward in spite of any roadblocks or challenges keeping us from being unproductive and unfruitful.
There is nothing that should stand before our faith in God!
How do I know? Look at what Jesus said in our key Scripture! He starts with a declaration:
Have faith in God!
And then He explains why faith in God…in God. Why faith in God is so vitally important. Faith unlocks our kingdom reality and ability to speak to our mountain situation and see it cast out of our way. Active and utilized faith is the bulldozer removing every obstacle, including doubt, out of our way so we can keep moving forward to fulfill the purpose entrusted to us on our Jesus journey.
So, this week there are 4 things we have to do to walk unobstructed and victorious!
1. Have faith in God!
Did I say that already? Oh, well yeah, because it's important. Have faith in God, not your job, ya spouse, or even in your own limited abilities, have faith in God!!! We can because He can!
2. Speak to your situation
Not sure what to say? Then take the words out of Jesus’ mouth, “[Your mountain], be removed and be cast into the sea.” You can’t go wrong with the word of God!
3. Do not doubt, believe!
James tells us that he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind…he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:6-8)
Stand firm! Jesus said that when we believe, the things we say WILL BE DONE and we WILL HAVE WHATEVER we say! So please refer to number 2!
4. Ask in prayer
Don’t forget to pray! It’s not only essential for barreling through obstacles but for our intimacy with our Creator and the lover of our souls.
Jesus said, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
What other encouragement do you need today with this golden nugget? =)
Oh, and about how I used this at the courthouse? Well remember last week, you received an email about me having to go to jury duty? Read here. Well as I sat in the juror’s office trying to have a positive, serve as if serving unto the Lord attitude, I thought about how much I didn't want to be there lol. I saw it as a mountain to other things I desired to do that week, so I spoke to the mountain. I literally just told God, what I desired and after lunch, I was dismissed and signed off for the rest of the week! We ALL were. Not one person in that room had to serve. With all the people at the courthouse that day, I just knew I was gonna be on a case. I won’t lie and say I didn’t praise God with excitement. Sure this wasn't a life or death situation, but God's word works in all things if we let it.
I’ll take it! What about you?
