Excerpt from It’s a Dolphin Do you know that half the people that ran to witness it the first time and missed them no longer cared, shrugged their shoulders and went back to what they were doing? They missed a blessing that was flaunting itself in front of them. Something they reported wanting to see so badly changed in a matter of minutes.
I can assume they no longer cared about the sighting because they had improper motives to begin with. Today I simply say, check your motives and make sure they are right. You do so by asking yourself simple questions related to actions you are thinking about or have already taken.
What do you really want your blessings for? To flaunt and make yourself feel better?
Who do you plan to bless in return and why? Are you trying to buy their love and attention or was it placed on your heart with the expectation of nothing in return? Wait do you even plan to bless anyone else?
Why do you really want to keep that person in your life? Is it because you are worried
they will find someone who will treat them better or is it because you are sure they will get that singing or sports contract soon and you deserve a cut? You’ve put in too much for anyone else to score that jackpot!
Why have you decided to post anything on any social networking site? Are you looking for attention in the wrong places, blasting someone out to attack their character or is it really to share happiness, bring positive awareness, and uplift others?
Why did you go out of your way to walk that particular route? Are you trying to be seen and talked about or did you go that way so you can smile, speak, and uplift? On the other hand, are you allowing fear to rule you and keep you from walking down a necessary path?
Why did you give offering today? Are you attempting to buy blessings from God and please the Pastor? Or was it a spirit led action in order to build the kingdom no matter how much it was from a penny to a million?
Why did you give that person money? Are you attempting to buy their love or keep their friendship or even keep them in a position where you feel they owe you something? Maybe because you felt guilty? Or was it out the goodness of your heart?
Why are you really ignoring them? Is it a plan to vengefully harm them? Are you afraid of the truth they hold and it exposing something about you?
Why did you go to that function knowing no one there liked you? Were you really trying to be the bigger person or just felt like stuntin on these…nvm.
Why are you buying so many new clothes? Do you really love the way that you look in them or live and thrive off of how people say you look in them? Do they define your worth? If they were all gone one day do you think people would still like you, do you think you could still pretend to like yourself?
Why did you have to get that phone the first day it came out? Will it really get you all the ratchets, I mean ladies? Was there anything different about day 1 and waiting until you actually had the money in your account?
I don’t know but I think we might be missing out on blessings or misappropriating them because our motives are just plain wrong.
Only two more days to go with this theme. To check day one look at the blog It's a Dolphin or
