Don’t you hate when you’re giving your all to help someone or complete a project with others, and it feels like you’re working 10x harder than them? You feel like you’re about to burn out, and it feels like they are on some mental island vacationing.
You might think, “I’m going to stop caring more about their “thing,” than they do.” Or, “if they don’t care, or aren’t showing up, then I’m not either.”
And that’s all fine and well UNLESS God has called you to that person, place, or thing to do something specific. If this is the case, you don’t get to decrease your commitment, I’m sorry.
The Bible says, whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24)
This means, if you’re decreasing your commitment or the way that you have been asked to serve in this particular area, you are reacting towards God, not the person, place, or thing.
We cannot allow other people’s commitment to affect ours!
Sure, it can be exhausting, but you must remember to rely on God’s strength. In His strength, we will find rest and relief.
Sure, it can be frustrating, but you have to remember you’re doing the work of the Lord, and I’m sure Jesus was frustrated many of days. You’re in good company!
There is a reward on the other side of all of this. Some of them will be immediate, and others will take more time to
manifest. Not only that but your actions here have the ability to positively affect generations to come! That’s huge!
So don’t be discouraged but be encouraged that God sees all, and He can strengthen you to complete the task that has been laid in your lap.
This month I want to remind you to give 100% of what God has asked of you, in spite of how the people around you may or may not respond. Make sure you serve as if unto the Lord so when your season is up, or the task is complete, you can walk away confident you accomplished what God required of you.
I know it may feel irritating but decide today whom you will serve. Your God or your emotions?
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
I pray that God blesses you with all you need to move forward this month in joy, peace, and with zeal!
